Technologies in low vision assistive devices have advanced over the years to provide a wide variety of visual aids to individuals with low vision. Some low vision aids are more specific to the job or task at hand, including the features and equipment options provided by the device (Shemyl, 1997). These are some of the Apps that have been created for people with visual impairment; AccessWorld, aidColors, Ariadne GPS, Audio labels, BARD Mobile, Be My Eyes- helping blind see and Blind Bargains.
The OLPC project is a project that aims at bridging the digital gap for the children. Google has come up with small child user friendly laptops that try and help a child in getting computer knowledge at his level. The project has been tried and over the past five years, over 2200 students from 87 countries completed some of the task given by the child computer (One Laptop per Child, 2009)

Minimizing e-waste helps to conserve resources and reduces the amount of energy we take from the earth. Reusing the precious metals and plastics in old cell phones alone instead of making or mining more of them would save as much energy as flipping off the power to 24,000 US homes for an entire year (Havard University, 2015). Here are some of the ways you can help and go green; extending the life of our electronics, by buying environmentally friendly electronics, donating used electronics to social programs, reusing large electronics and recycling electronics and batteries in e-waste recycling bins located around the community.
